Description

A creamy, cheesy, and spicy Velveeta sausage cheese dip made with hot pork sausage, Velveeta cheese, and Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies. Perfect for parties, game days, or as a delicious snack served warm with chips or crackers.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound hot pork sausage roll
  • 16 ounces Velveeta Original Cheese, cubed
  • 1 (10 ounce) can Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies

Instructions

  1. Brown the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the pork sausage over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula as it browns. Drain off the excess grease carefully.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Return the skillet to medium heat and add the cubed Velveeta cheese and the entire can of Rotel (including the liquid) to the browned sausage.
  3. Melt the Cheese: Stir occasionally with a cooking spoon until the Velveeta cheese is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Serve Warm: Once melted and combined, remove from heat. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Storage: Let leftover dip cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Use within 3-4 days for best flavor and freshness.
  • Reheating: Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat or in the microwave, stirring occasionally to maintain a smooth consistency.
  • Variations: Substitute hot sausage with mild sausage if a less spicy dip is preferred.
  • Serving Suggestions: This dip is great served with tortilla chips, sliced baguette, celery sticks, or soft pretzels.
